Dwyer (FL) standout Raven Saunders, one of NC State's first commitments in the 2017 class, originally planned on enrolling in January. However, his plans have now changed.
"I'm not enrolling this week," Saunders told Pack Pride. "I wasn't able to get everything set up in time to enroll so I'll be signing in February. I'm going to come in now with the rest of the class."
Saunders maintains that he remains firmly committed to the Wolfpack.
"Yes sir, I'm going to NC State," he added. "All the other schools know that I'm locked down. They know that I'm solid."
A hybrid player, Saunders, who checks in at 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, is capable of playing safety or linebacker on the next level. As a junior he lined up at safety and tailback but this year he spent most of the season playing outside linebacker.
"I played outside and came off the edge a lot," he said. "NC State wants me to play 'MIKE' or weakside linebacker. I think I'll be a good fit for the defense because they are physical and fly around... they are relentless. That's how I try to play."
Saunders is rated a three-star recruit and the No. 114 outside linebacker in the country by Scout.com.
