Recruiting Scene: NC State offered McKay after he camped with the Wolfpack prior to his senior season. From that point on the Pack became the team to beat. Pittsburgh offered McKay shortly after Matt Canada was named their offensive coordinator. The Panthers and West Virginia were the only schools that McKay considered outside of NC State but the Wolfpack’s loyalty and the lure of staying close to home led him to choose the Pack.

Why NC State? “Yes because it's a family environment up here and at NC State. They really cheer me on and there's a lot of love being shown with me staying at home.  There's nothing like it.”

Picked NC State Over: Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Temple and Old Dominion

Scouting Report: "McKay is quarterback with a lot of natural ability. He is a tall, athletic prospect, who can beat you with his arm or legs. McKay has a quick release and a strong arm. He can fit balls into tight windows or throw with good touch. He needs to continue to work on accuracy and decision making, but he's a prospect with huge upside and has the potential to develop into really good quarterback." - Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Michael Clark
