Henderson: "We Have To Move On"

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- NC State senior wing Terry Henderson discusses the loss at North Carolina.

Opening Statement:
We aren't going to hang our heads about it. We have Boston College coming up next so we'll get ready to play them.

Have you ever been a part of a loss like this?
I can't remember none. I don't think so.

What was that first half like?
They came out making shots... it's tough winning on the road when the other team comes out making shots like that... getting stops, we're not playing our game at the same time.

It's hard to win like that.

Your confidence to recover from a beating like this...
A win.  Whether we lost by five or lost by 50, a loss is a loss and a win is a win.

I don't like to lose. Coach Gottfried doesn't like to lose. We'll bounce back as a team and not hang our heads.

What was he like in the locker room?
He said to keep our heads up and move on to the next one. Everybody makes mistakes, including himself.  We can't point fingers or blame each other. We have to move on and take accountability to get better.

Do you feel like the team quit?
I wouldn't say quit, I'd say not compete maybe. More along those lines.

What is the hardest part in a game like this?
Just trying to get over that, eliminate those errors and mistakes. We were looking forward to this game ever since it got postponed.

I know we all had our energy level up... they came out making shots, contested shots, beating us on the glass. It's a team game. We're not pointing fingers, blaming each other... we'll keep getting better and move on to the next.

Do you feel like you had your feet beneath you?
We had the energy, we still have to run our offense a little better and compete more throughout the whole game, not just early in the second half.  We have to keep getting better at it.

What has to change to win on the road?
I really don't know. We'll keep getting better, doing what we have to do... going over scouting reports, learning our opponents games. We have to keep getting better. We'll get one eventually. This is the ACC, the best basketball league in the country. This is what we signed up for.
