Waxhaw (NC) Marvin Ridge wide receiver Emeka Emezie was the only remaining early commitment who had yet to make his official visit to NC State. The three-star receiver had a chance to do just that recently, and he talked about the trip with Pack Pride.
“It was a fun trip. It was fun hanging out with the receivers- Kelvin Harmon and some of the other guys. We got to go out and eat at some places and just have a good time. I’ve seen most of what State has to offer already but there was some things in the library that I hadn’t seen before and then being able to see around the campus. That was pretty cool. Kelvin hosted me on my visit.”
During his visit Emezie had a chance to spend some time with his future position coach and talk about what he’ll need to do once he arrives in Raleigh next spring.
“I like coach McDonald. He’s a really good coach. He’s a cool person to talk to.
“I’m just looking forward to going in there and competing. Anywhere you go you have to compete and make a name for yourself.”
Emezie also had a chance to meet a couple of the Wolfpack’s newest commits.
“I talked to a couple of the guys that committed this weekend and it was cool getting to know them. They liked it themselves a lot and they were at the bookstore buying the gear already and they were just real excited.”
Emezie said right now he doesn’t have plans to visit any other schools. He will be running track this spring to prepare for his arrival at NC State.
In 2016 Emezie racked up 1,387 yards receiving on 99 catches while adding 18 touchdowns. He helped lead Marvin Ridge to an 8-6 record and playoff berth.
