Dayes Shines In Senior Bowl

NC State senior tailback Matt Dayes shined for the South team in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

NC State was represented in the Reese's Senior Bowl this season by tailback Matthew Dayes, and the Wolfpack star didn't disappoint.  Playing for the South team, Dayes rushed for a team-high 66 yards on seven carries, and his 9.4 yards per carry average led all running backs for both teams.

Dayes bounced back from fumbling on his first carry to score a two-yard touchdown in the third quarter that put the South ahead 16-3.  Here's a look at the touchdown.

Dayes, who was named the Wolfpack's Most Valuable Player this season, finished the year with 1,116 yards, the sixth-best single-season mark in school history.  He was named a second-team All-ACC performer by the media and coaches after becoming the Wolfpack's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2002.
