The official list of players invited to participate in the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine has been released, and three former NC State players received invites.

Seniors Matthew Dayes and Jack Tocho were officially invited, along with junior safety Josh Jones, who declared early for the draft.

Dayes, a two-year starter, earned second-team All-ACC honors as a senior  after rushing for 1,166 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also catching 32 passes for 267 additional yards.

"Tempo-based, one-cut running back with good vision but an inability to break tackles and run with power," NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein said of Dayes.  "Best on outside zone plays with an opportunity to find back-side cuts, but when he has to run between the tackles, he's missing an aggressive burst. Potentially a committee running back with some third-down value if he can tighten up his pass blocking."

Jack Tocho started nearly three full seasons at NC State, and he totaled 37 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions and nine pass breakups as a senior, earning second-team All-ACC honors from Pro Football Focus.  Tocho allowed completions on just 45.3% of the targets he faced this season.

Josh Jones received an invite and could turn heads, like Tocho, due to his superior athleticism.  His play on the field was strong in 2016, as Jones led the Wolfpack in tackles (109) and added eight pass breakups and three interceptions, earning honorable mention All-ACC honors from the coaches and second-team All-ACC honors from Pro Football Focus.

The NFL Scouting Combine will be held Feb. 28-March 6 in Indianapolis.
