POSTGAME: Elliott Avent

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- NC State head coach Elliott Avent spoke with Pack Pride after the Wolfpack's win over UNC Greensboro.

"We played well.  We played okay in Hawaii, but we've played well since we got back. We just have to get better.  We're just not good enough right now."

"That's a really good baseball team and like you said we got four double plays."

"We played outstanding the last four innings."

"He's something else. I'm so proud of [Staley] when he got here, but he's really elevated his pitching."

"Those two guys can fly. You get them back-to-back they can make some things happen."

"That's a pretty good tandem at the top of the lineup."

"The ACC is extremely tough, but what makes this difficult is our nonconference. UNCG, I think they beat South Carolina and somebody else who was nationally ranked."

"It doesn't get easy in the nonconference but that is where you make your money."

"I think we're ready, we just have to get better."
