Since the beginning of the September contact period, Young's fielded calls from some the nation's best programs.
"Everybody's called... all the schools that have offered me. The latest offer I got was from Virginia Tech, and I'm beginning to like all of the attention. I know this is going to be a tough decision though."
Willie's first offer came VERY early last year... from the NC State Wolfpack.
"Yes NC State was the first school to offer me. It wasn't even half-way through my junior season, and I got that offer. It means a lot to me because it shows that they liked me before others did. I went up for the Florida State game after getting the offer, and I just loved it. Everything was fun."
As the official visit portion of the recruiting season draws near, Young is not that sure of what colleges he intends on visiting.
"Man, I'm probably going to have a top ten list soon, but I don't know who I'm going to visit because I can only go to five schools. NC State I'm pretty sure about... the other four I don't know yet. I liked the last time I went up to NC State, and I didn't get to see much of the campus, so I'm planning on going back up there soon."
Young, who some consider the top defensive end prospect in Florida this season, doesn't think distance will play a role in his final decision.
"My parents just want me to go somewhere that I like. They'll be happy wherever I go and said that it's going to be my decision."
As open as can be, look for Young's recruitment to come down to Signing Day. Will the Wolfpack's early loyalty win out in the end?
