NC State has Equal Chance for Sims

Pat Sims recently gave equal billing to NC State on his list of impressive schools. StateFans interviewed the Dillard defensive star to get the latest on his recruitment.

NC State continues to hit the Florida recruiting trail. Miami (Willie Williams, Javier Estopinan), Merritt Island (Mike Mangold), Riviera Beach (DaJaun Morgan), Palm Beach Gardens (Willie Young), Lake City (Rashaun Jones), and Haines City (Tony Joiner) are just a few cities on NC State's Florida recruiting board. You can also add Fort Lauderdale, home of Pat Sims, to the Pack recruiting map.

Dillard High School has a reputation of churning out Division one prospects, and the latest is DT Pat Sims. StateFans interviewed Pat to find out the Pack's standing for the outstanding defensive tackle.

The Insiders had NC State listed as a "Low Interest" level, but evidently that has changed according to Pat who named NC State in his top 8 in a previous interview.

"I am interested in all my top schools right now. I want to give them all equal chance. There is no one school that stands out right now. They all are equal with an equal shot."

Pack fans do not need to look for an early commitment to any school and according to Sims, "that day" will come later rather than sooner.

"When that day comes, I'll decide which school I will go to. That day will come February 22nd. That's signing day."

The other schools listed by Pat include Ohio State, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Rutgers, South Florida, and Central Florida.

Sims is considered to be one of the top prospects from the Fort Lauderdale area in 2004. He has 4.8 speed and is listed at 6'4" 280. Sims feels he can play anywhere on the defensive line on the next level.

"I'm quick for a big man. It doesn't matter what position I play on the line. I can play defensive tackle, end, or nose tackle," Sims told in a summer interview.

For the season, Dillard is 2-2 and Pat has six sacks.
