However, senior Albert Dukes might be the best they've had in almost two decades. At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Dukes has everything you look for in a wide receiver prospect.
Dukes, who competes on the varsity basketball and track (400 and 4x4) teams, is having an outstanding senior season.
"I have 643 yards and nine touchdowns so far in six games," he said. "I'm trying to get to 1,000 yards in the regular season. As long as we keep winning, it's all good though."
Dukes, who is ranked 11th in a senior class of over 200 with a 3.7 GPA, has an 18 ACT score which makes him a full academic qualifier.
On the field, Dukes is one of the state's premier wideouts. He's getting recruiting attention from major programs around the country.
"I got a bunch of offers right now but I'm focusing mostly on three of them right now," he said. "Ohio State, and N.C. State are the ones I like the most right now. I have offers from Ohio State and NC State I know. Miami ain't come out and said it yet but based on what they're telling me, I'm pretty sure I'll have a chance to go there."
Dukes, who was at the UM/Florida game in September, talked about each of his current favorites.
"Ohio State is tight," he said. "Santonio (Holmes) is there and he's been telling me good things about the school. N.C. State, my boy Garland (Heath) is there and they throw the ball a lot. Miami's the best all around team and I know a lot about them. I go to a lot of home games. I'll be at the Tennessee and Rutgers games too."
The talented receiver talked more about why he's so high on the Hurricanes right now in the process.
"I've been talking to them," he said. "I actually tallked to them just last night. They need some help with young receivers and they think I can come in and help. We were talking about when I can come in for a visit and right now, it's looking like January will be a good time. I like Miami a lot. It's a big time program and it's close to home. Plus, Santonio (Thomas) is my boy."
Dukes, who is considering offers from Pittsburgh for his final two visits, said he has two programs that stand out right now.
"I'll probably pick between Miami, Ohio State, and NC State but Miami and Ohio State are my number ones right now," he said. "I'm gonna take my visits and then I'll be able to make a decision."
