Young's Almost Ready to Trim List

Palm Beach Gardens (FL) Defensive End Willie Young has over a dozen offers, and is looking to trim his list to five in the upcoming weeks. After cutting down his list, it will be time to take those all important official visits.

"I should have a top five within the next two weeks and then I'll begin to set my visits," Willie Young told StateFans. "The only one I have set up is for N.C. State in December. Right now that's the only school I'm visiting for sure."

Young who's entertaining offers from the likes of Georgia, Florida, NC State, Nebraska, Auburn, Florida State, and Virginia Tech among others, is off to a great start for the 8-0 Gators of Palm Beach Gardens.

"I have 35 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks. The season's going pretty good though because we are winning games. That's what is most important to me."

After chatting with Willie for a few minutes, we were able to talk with his father, Willie Young Sr., about their unofficial visit to Raleigh last season for NC State's game versus the Florida State Seminoles.

"I loved it man... we came up there last year to see them play Florida State," Willie Sr. said. "It was the first time we had been on a visit to a football game that big and being down on the field and meeting the players really freaked him out. It was a good experience for him."

He also confirmed the official visit that has been set up with N.C. State.

"We plan on coming up there December 13th for his official visit. That's what we've set up with Coach Holliday at NC State, and we'll be up there for a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday visit. That's the only one we've set up this far. He hasn't made any visits yet, and I think we are going to do all of those after Willie finishes his football season."

Speaking of Coach Holliday, he's done a great job recruiting the Florida star.

"Doc's cool man, he's real cool," Willie said. "I like Doc a lot. He's recruiting me hard for NC State."

Young has stated he intends on taking all his visits before announcing his college decision.
