Two Key Match-ups To Watch

When NC State has the ball…
OGsLeroy Harris/Sean Locklear vs. DT Darnell Dockett

Dockett, who some consider the best defensive tackle in the ACC, has made a career out of getting tackles behind the line of scrimmage. The NC State interior offensive lineman must keep Dockett and his teammates out of the backfield or it could be a long day for the Wolfpack offense. If the guards, along with Center Jed Paulsen, can neutralize Dockett it could allow RB T.A. McLendon to have a huge day.

When Florida State has the ball…
RB Greg Jones vs. S Andre Maddox

After a poor showing through the air last week against Clemson, expect Florida State to try and establish RB Greg Jones early. The Wolfpack, who rank first in the ACC in rush defense, must stop Jones, Lorenzo Booker, and Leon Washington to have a chance. Look for Rover/SS Andre Maddox to be the 8th man in the box, stuffing the running game, and making erratic QB Chris Rix beat NC State with his arm.

Keep Your Eye On

NC State RB T.A. McLendon – He's back! The reigning ACC Rookie of the Year returned fully healthy against Virginia and proved valuable on the ground and in the air. With #44 on the field NC State's a different team, and if McLendon's still standing at the end against FSU, it could mean the Wolfpack's had a successful day.

Florida State QB Chris Rix - Rix was awful last week against Clemson, getting yanked late in the second half for back-up Fabian Walker. To be NC State Rix must be on top of his game, or FSU could lose three in a row to Wolfpack Coach Chuck Amato's squad.
