Daniel Not Limiting his Options

Pompano Beach (FL) Ely Defensive Lineman Brandon Daniel has yet to narrow down his list of suitors but is happy with how his recruitment has progressed.

"It's going real good," Brandon Daniel told StateFans. "I'm going to Pittsburgh on the 29th of this month, NC State on December 6th, and Kansas State on December 19th.

"I've already been to Virginia Tech and for my last visit it will be either to Florida, Miami, or Michigan State. All of my favorites have offered except for Miami. I don't have a leader right now and I'm still open."

Daniel visited Virginia Tech in late September and was impressed with what he saw in Blacksburg.

"It went real well. I felt comfortable around the team, and I can see myself playing there."

NC State has been successful at landing Blache Ely High School standouts, with alums James Martin and Sterling Hicks currently members of the Wolfpack. This success could help with landing Daniel, who knows a lot about the NC State program.

"NC State has a good program, and I'll have a chance to play with some of my old teammates. I know a lot about them because they recruit down here so good. The coaches are cool, and I like Coach Holiday. He's got a good sense of humor and we get along."

So what factors will play a major part in Brandon's final decision?

"A school I can feel comfortable with, a strong program, and a good coacing staff... those are some of the things I'm looking for. I think I'll wait until around signing day before announcing."

Brandon finished the season with 9 sacks while leading Ely High School to a 9-1 record in the regular season. He played defensive end for Ely this season but projects as a pass-rushing defensive tackle on the next level.
