Four-Star LB Will Visit Raleigh This Weekend

South Carolina linebacker Robert Ayers goes deep about the recruiting process. Ayers, from Bennettsville (S.C.) Malboro County, has now set up four official visits with two more schools fighting for his last one.

One of the South's top rated defensive prospects is four-star linebacker prospect South Carolina (1-23) and Florida State (1-30). NC State and Florida will fight it out for his fifth and final visit.

"I went down to Georgia this summer for an unofficial visit. I love the coaches there. Those guys treated me like part of the team and that is a place where I think I can play and fit in with their defense.

"I actually grew up watching Tennessee, especially their women's basketball team. I loved college basketball and that was m very sport. I loved watching Cincinnati (men's) and Tennessee (women's). People don't realize that I recently started playing football and I have always played basketball.

"At South Carolina I love the defensive coordinator, coach Kosh. He's like my coach now and another father figure to me. I feel lots of pressure to play there with South Carolina being like the home team for me. But I will do what's best for me.

"Then there's Florida State. It's FSU! How can anyone say no to Florida State? Bobby Bowden seems real down to earth and I like that about them.

"NC State just started recruiting me and I will see them play this weekend against Maryland. I really liked Florida a lot early but I am a little concerned. I would like to see more stability with them."

Ayers has been to games this season in Knoxville, Columbia, and Gainesville. This weekend, he will go to NC State and next weekend he will go to FSU/ Florida.

"I am looking at lots of things like playing time, the coaches, tradition and stuff. But the main thing is how comfortable I am with the schools. This is a life decision I have to make."
