Peach Bowl Officials Meeting Tonight

Officials from the Peach Bowl are meeting this evening to map out which team they'll invite from the Atlantic Coast Conference. has confirmed that Peach Bowl officials will be meeting this evening in Atlanta, starting at 6 o'clock to begin the selection process for the January 2nd bowl game.

The meeting is expected to last 3 hours and should include some healthy debate on which team from the Atlantic Coast Conference will be selected.

"You can take a look at the standings and figure out which teams are in the running," a Peach Bowl official told CUTigers late Monday afternoon.

"We'll have a much better idea of our direction for the ACC school, after this meeting."

With the Maryland Terrapins accepting a bid to play in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida earlier today, the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl is set to choose between Clemson and N.C. State.

Clemson has locked up third place in the ACC with a 5-3 conference record, while N.C. State is fourth at 4-4. The Peach Bowl can select either team based on the fact that N.C. State is within one game in the conference standings.

Two match ups that are believed to be at the forefront of the Peach Bowl's wish list, include Clemson - Florida, or N.C. State - Ole Miss.

N.C. State - Ole Miss would pair up to senior quarterbacks in Eli Manning and Philip Rivers. Other SEC teams in consideration would be Arkansas and Auburn.

The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl is the only bowl game on January 2nd this year, and is slated to kick-off at 4:30 PM on ESPN. The Clemson Tigers last played in the Atlanta based bowl game in 1999 against Mississippi State.
