Antwain Carey Favors Three ACC Programs

Chesapeake (VA) Deep Creek Running Back Antwain Carey took an unofficial visit to NC State this past weekend for the Wolfpack's game against Maryland. The Virginia speedster was impressed with what he saw.

"It was nice," Antwain Carey told StateFans. "I liked the atmosphere and everything. I didn't really get a chance to see inside the Murphy Center because I came in late. That game was exciting, and the N.C. State fans were real loud. I liked it."

Carey, who wears #44 for Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, gave us his thoughts on NC State's #44, T.A. McLendon.

"He's a nice, power back. I don't think he's got the type of speed like I have, but he's a good running back. He can play."

Does Antwain have any favorites right now?

"Virginia, NC State, and Virginia Tech. They've all pretty much offered me a scholarship and are recruiting me hard."

Those three ACC schools at the top of his list and all have "pretty much" offered full scholarships according to Carey. The unofficial visit to NC State will be his last of the year and now Antwain's ready to start setting up his official visits.

"I'm trying to set up an official visit to NC State soon. I know I'm going to visit Virginia and Virginia Tech too. I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor so I can set the visit around my foot surgery. I didn't get to play much this year because I had a [foot] fracture."

Carey hopes to make a decision following official visits to all his favorites, but he did leave the door open for a possible early commitment.

"I'm going to probably wait until after all those visits, but if I see a place I like then I might go ahead and commit."
