Carey officially visits State this weekend

Chesapeake Virginia running back Antwain Carey will take his first official visit this weekend to NC State. StateFans called Antwain to get his thoughts about his upcoming trip to Raleigh.

Antwain Carey has his first of three visits lined up for this weekend, when he visits Raleigh to check out the Wolfpack program. StateFans asked Carey if he was looking forward to his trip. "Oh yea. Coach Manny Diaz has talked to me about going down there. I am going there to check out the campus, the people and the coaches. This is my first visit. I really want to get to know their offense."

While Carey is scheduled for an official visit this weekend, he was just down for an unofficial visit last month when he watched NC State play Maryland. After that initial trip, Antwain told StateFans liked the time he spent on his unofficial visit. "I liked the atmosphere and everything. I didn't really get a chance to see inside the Murphy Center because I came in late. That game was exciting, and the N.C. State fans were real loud. I liked it."

Antwain has also set visits to two other ACC schools for the month of January. "Virginia Tech, UNC and NC State are the ones I am looking at right now. I am going to Virginia Tech on January 24th and UNC on January 9th."

Carey had a season ending injury that kept him off the Deep Creek HS sidelines for much of his senior season. According to Antwain, he is waiting for an appointment to get with a specialist to have surgery to repair his broken foot. "My foot is coming along fine. My doctor went over the surgery with me and I am scheduled to see a specialist. Hopefully all that will come out ok."

The Wolfpack will also host several other top prospects along with Carey this weekend.
