Aumaitre Sets January Official Visit

New Jersey Offensive Lineman Nyere Aumaitre had hoped to end his recruitment before Christmas, but he will now wait to take his NC State visit in early January before annoucing his decision.

Nyere Aumaitre had a great visit to Iowa this past weekend. In a post Iowa visit interview, Nyere told The Insiders "I was suppose to visit North Carolina State in January, but I'm going to try and bump it up to this coming weekend. I want to get this over with. Nebraska and Tennessee are the other schools high on my list, but Iowa is my leader right now. It almost felt like I found my calling."

Nyere had hoped to move his NC State visit up so he could complete his officials before Christmas. However, it looks like Aumaitre will have to wait until 2004 to complete his scheduled visit to NC State.

"I am going there on the ninth (1/9/04). I was trying to bring the visit on up, but I don't know if they had an open date for the nineteenth. So I am just going in January."

Although Iowa became the leader after his visit with the Hawkeyes, Nyere told StateFans he was not going to commit before taking his final visit.

"No, I am not going to commit before my visit (to NC State)."

Aumaitre "loved" his Hawkeye visit, but after his October visit to Nebraska, the New Jersey defensive lineman seemed equally thrilled with his trip to see the Cornhuskers. He rated it a "10" and was quoted as saying "It hit all my expectations".

With NC State having the last visit, the Wolfpack can also make the last impression. The January visit could work out for the Pack.

StateFans will have more on Nyere's visit before he leaves for Raleigh in January, so stay tuned!
