Bryant: "I'm Wide Open"

Fork Union (VA) Military Wide Receiver Dorien Bryant was in Raleigh this past weekend for an official visit to NC State. The New Jersey speedster checks in with StateFans regarding his visit and recruitment.

Dorien, who has run a sub 4.2 40-yard dash while on the campus of Fork Union, is considered one of the nation's fastest prep football players. This past weekend he took an official visit to a school that has been recruiting him for a long time, the NC State Wolfpack.

"Oh yea, it went good," Dorien Bryant told StateFans. "I liked it better then last year's NC State official visit because I feel like I went down there this time with a clear mind. I wanted to know things and really make the best decision for myself and not someone else."

Dorien's host on the visit was NC State Defensive Back Lamont Reid and the Wolfpack's talented defender impressed Bryant.

"He's a great guy. He's the most 'real,' and the best host that I have had anywhere. I really got a good feel for Lamont and think he's a good person."

Last year he signed with Boston College over NC State, Tennessee, and Michigan State among others but failed to qualify academically. Behind the recommendation of his high school coach, Bryant chose to attend Fork Union for prep school and it has definitely paid off.

"I think it has helped me a lot," he said. "I've matured physically, mentally, and emotionally as a person. It's really been good for me."

Dorien has now taken visits to NC State, Pittsburgh, and Boston College, but does he still consider himself committed to Boston College?

"I'm wide open," he laughed. "I hope to have a decision in early January if I can."

Could the Wolfpack land the talented wide receiver who spurned them last February? Check back with StateFans in early January to find out the latest on Dorien Bryant and his college decision!
