The "New" Marque Hall Creates a Buzz in Rock Hill

Rock Hill, S.C. --Marshville (N.C.) Forrest Hills Defensive Tackle Marque Hall has reformed his body, shedding nearly 40 pounds over the past 6 months. The "new" Marque has been the talk of the North Carolina team this week and he sat down with StateFans for the latest.

"Man, I'm a lot faster then I was before... I know that," Marque Hall told StateFans. "I did pretty good this year, and I had a lot of fun but this will help me when I play college so it's been good."

Hall has been playing exclusively at Defensive Tackle this week and he's been "unblockable" according to observers of North Carolina's practices. Tomorrow he takes on a South Carolina offensive line that features 5 Division-1 prospects and Marque's ready for the challenge.

"Yea sir, I can't wait. I think we are going to handle business tomorrow and win this game for North Carolina."

On the recruiting front, Hall claims to have scheduled four official visits, with another trip pending.

"I have set up four visits. I'm going to Tennessee, Virginia Tech, UNC, NC State and I might go to South Carolina. I don't have the dates or anything, but I think the first one's to UNC. I have to go every weekend so I'm looking forward to them."

Marque, who has had in-home visits from Coach Fulmer (Tennessee), Coach Peerman (Virginia Tech), Coach Roberts (South Carolina), and Coach Bunting (UNC), is still hesitant to name a favorite.

"Nah... I still don't have a favorite," he said [laughing].

NC State Running Backs Coach Dick Portee is handling Marque's recruitment.

"He's talkative man [laughing]... he's persistent I know that, but I like him a lot."

Hall will likely announce near signing day after all of his official visits.
