Moeller (OH) High picked up its ninth win of the season by defeating McNicholas 74-45 at Moeller last night. The Crusaders were led by NC State signee Andrew Brackman's 24 points and 8 rebounds. Brackman has been unstoppable lately, averaging 24 points and 9 rebounds in his last four games while being named Most Oustanding Player at the Glaxo. Bubba Walther (Akron) and Josh Duncan (Xavier) added 16 and 12 points respectively.
Head Coach Carl Kremer was worried but it's apparent that he had no reason to be.
"I was a little concerned after our trip last week, thinking we might have a little lull," Moeller coach Carl Kremer told The Enquirer. "I was pleased with our defensive intensity, especially early."
Moeller did in fact come out in a little lull, but due to their outstanding ball pressure and transition conversations, quickly turned a tight game into a blowout. Their strong play impressed veteran McNicholas Head Coach Pat Stricker.
"I can't think of any team I've ever seen that's any better, up and down the line," Stricker, a 20-year veteran of the local prep scene, told the Enquirer. "They're big, they're strong, and they can move. They've got the entire package."
Moeller is now 9-1 on the season and is ranked #13 in the latest USA Today Rankings.
