"It's going good," Estopinan said. "I eliminated Florida State and I'm mainly looking at the other three... N.C. State, Florida, and Ohio State."
This week N.C. State Head Coach Chuck Amato and Florida's Ron Zook both had in-homes with Javier. According to him, they were similar and went very well.
"They both basically told me the same thing and were good in-home visits. They want me to play for them and they want me to play early so I like what they had to say."
This past summer when we visited with Estopinan, it was obvious that family would play a major role in his final decision. The chance to stay close to home is appealing but the ultimate decision will be left up to Javier.
"My family wants me to stay close to home, and really like either N.C. State or Florida. But, they are leaving it up to me."
Going into what could be his final visit, does Estopinan have a leader?
"I'm pretty open. I'm just going to visit Florida this weekend and see how that goes."
One ACC program, Clemson, has been trying to get in the mix with Javier. The Tigers have picked up the pace since December and in fact have an official visit scheduled for January 23rd. However, the talented Miami linebacker is unsure if he'll take that visit.
"I don't know if I'll visit Clemson or not. I think I'm going to be ready to decide in the next week and a half so I doubt I'll take that one. It's going to be one of the main three."
Author's Note: This weekend's visit will be crucial in deciding where Estopinan ends up. N.C. State has been on Javier a very long time, but so has Florida and Ohio State. In the end I think it will come down to the Gators and the Wolfpack.
