Another 'Bama Player for the Wolfpack?

In a year where the Wolfpack has been stingy with scholarship offers, Alabama Defensive Back Jeremy Gray left Raleigh this weekend with the chance to play for NC State.

"Yea, they offered me a scholarship," Jeremy Gray said. "I liked the visit a lot too. I get along with the players and it just seemed like I was at home. The facilities are almost brand new and they are still building. I liked them too."

Heading into this official visit, Gray admittingly didn't know about NC State.

"I didn't really know much about NC State, but my coach sent them a tape ten days ago and they asked me to visit. I had a free weekend so I did and I'm glad I did."

Jeremy is a three-year starter at Opelika (AL), finishing this season with 40 tackles and 2 INTs. Measuring in at 6'3 and 180 pounds, he's been timed at 4.45 in the 40 yard dash. That size and speed adds to his natural ability at defensive back.

"I'm big and physical and NC State plays bump-and-run. That fits my style because I like man pressure."

Jeremy still has two visits remaining, to Mississippi State (1/28) and Auburn (1/30). Both schools have offered and will try and land Gray. When can we expect a decision?

"I'm going to take all my visits then decide on signing day."

One factor that could come into play is the family attraction to Auburn, the in-state program.

"My dad and my cousin played at Auburn but there's not really any pressure. My dad said it doesn't matter and it's going to be up to me."
