Jones, who measures in at 6-foot-1 and 192 pounds, finished his senior season with 65 tackles, eight interceptions, and five blocked kicks. He also added 31 catches for 390 yards and six touchdowns at receiver. Will it be offense or defense at the next level?
"I'm playing defense," Rashaun said. "The schools I'm looking at want me at safety, except NC State. They want me at cornerback."
Rashaun fits the mold of NC State corners, big, fast, and physical enough to play aggressive bump-and-run coverage. He eerily resembles NC State cornerback Marcus Hudson, right down to the #1 on the jerseys they each wear.
This weekend he visits NC State, which will be his final trip.
"I'm going to NC State on Friday," he said. "I like the defense they run, and I want to see what the school is about. I feel like I can fit into what they do on defense though."
Jones doesn't claim a leader, but has narrowed his list to three finalists.
"I'm down to Miami, NC State, and USF," he said. "North Carolina was one of them, but I don't like them any more."
When can we expect a decision from this talented defender?
"Signing day... I'm not going to commit to a school, we are just going to sign on the last day."
