Pressley Wanted to be a Part of the Wolfpack

If Signing Day is analogous to Christmas Morning for college coaches, then Coach Chuck Amato and his staff must feel like they found a Lamborghini under the tree. Somewhat surprisingly, the Wolfpack received the addition of five-star lineman Demario Pressley to their 2004 recruiting class.

"I picked N.C. State because it's a good place to go," stated the Greensboro native. "Coach Chuck came and he turned the whole program around. In the past four years, they have been in four bowl games. I really want to be a part of that."

Pressley is delighted that his recruitment has concluded and acknowledges that the race for his services came down to the wire. The 6-4 290-pounder also revealed that his decision was a result of a team effort.

"It was just a close run between State and North Carolina," admits Pressley. "I talked about it with Coach Floyd and my mom and we just came up with State."

The key member of this "team" was Pressley's head coach, Victor Floyd. Floyd felt that it was important to open Pressley's eyes to see the entire picture, but stressed that it was Pressley's decision to make.

"My thing is I wanted him to be comfortable in where ever he went," Floyd said. "Every school in the county can offer you a good education and a chance to play; you have to be able to look beyond that. Ultimately he made the final decision. I gave my opinion, his mother gave her opinion and then you know it was just his call. He pondered over it a couple of days, and then he decided."

Nest up for Pressley is to enroll in the summer's second session.
