"I really like how North Carolina St passes the ball a lot. They have a great offense and are only about three and a half hours away," said Briscoe.
"My family always pulled for North Carolina and I watched them too. They are only about three hours away. I want my parents to see me play, so I'd like to stay within five hours driving."
Josh favors Tennessee slightly over Virginia, North Carolina St, Duke, South Carolina and North Carolina, but says it's mainly between his top four. He plans to attend the Nike Camp at Virginia and a one day camp at Tennessee.
"I like the coaching staff at Tennessee and their great tradition. It's just a big-time program and they have a good offense.
"But I like Virginia a lot too. They practice real hard and are getting better. They practice the way they play. They go hard all the time. I also love the weight room."
Josh is friends with another top North Carolina prospect, QB Jonathan Crompton of Waynesville Tuscola. The two met at Tennesee's home opener last season and became quick friends. "It would be cool to play with him, but I'll make a decision for myself and he'll decide for himself. I know he likes Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina and I like those schools too."
Josh had 44 receptions for 726 yds and seven TDs. He benches 245, squats 305 and had a VJ of 33.
"I get yards after the catch and I can make people miss. I have great hands and I'm real good at reading coverages. I'd like a quicker step off the line and get open quicker. I also want to improve my lower body strength."
Josh is also being recruited for track in the long jump and triple jump. "If I get a chance I'll do both sports."
