"I'm physically strong and have a great awareness of the game. I play smart and I get off the line quick. I block good and use my hands well. I want to improve my overall speed and quickness. I want to outrun and over power people more."
Jonathan favors Virginia Tech (offer) and Georgia Tech slightly over Maryland, North Carolina St (offer) and Georgia. He also has offers from North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Duke, Penn St and Virginia.
He already attended a JR Day at North Carolina St and may attend JR Days at Virginia Tech and Georgia. "North Carolina St is only one hour away and I'd like to stay close, but at this point I'm open to anything. Location doesn't matter right now."
The Wolfpack are recruiting Jonathan the hardest and he has strong family ties to the program. Both his parents attended North Carolina St and his dad, Joe, played DL between 1976-79 for Coach Chuck Amato when he was the defensive coordinator.
Despite his family connections to North Carolina St, Jonathan has always been more of a Tar Heel fan. "I just always loved North Carolina. They are about one and a half hours away and I just always liked them. They were the first school to offer me about a year ago, but recently they haven't been showing as much interest as the others. That's why they aren't in my top five. I also grew up loving Florida St. I really like Bobby Bowden and how fast they play."
Jonathan lived in Virginia for a while, so perhaps that explains his fondness of Virginia Tech. "I know a few guys there already and I have some family in Virginia still. It's just a good school all around. When I lived in Virginia I was pretty close to the Maryland campus too, so I used to go to their games a lot as well. I like the style of offense Maryland runs."
Jonathan is also being recruited for basketball as a forward (15 ppg/8 rpg). "I definitely plan to play both. That will be a main factor for me. That's what I like about Georgia Tech. They are competative in both football and basketball. They have real good academics and Atlanta is a great city to live in."
He plans to attend the North Carolina St summer camp and will also attend the Nike Camp at Penn St and the Ohio St camp. "I've never been to Columbus and I'm interested in checking Ohio St out."
