Countryside (FL) High School has been on spring break this week, and Quarterback Harrison Beck spent his break touring some of the top college progams in the country, including N.C. State.

In the past week Beck has visited N.C. State, Virginia, and Florida while also picking up an official offer from Duke as well.

"They went pretty good," Harrison said. "N.C. State has a very nice weight room, their offense is similiar to ours... I had a good time. I like the facilites, the coaches were nice, and spending time with Coach Amato was great."

"Virginia has a very nice campus and good coaches. It's a family-oriented staff, and I appreciate what all they showed me."

"I went to Florida today and that was a great visit too. They have a nice weight room and they have a lot of tradition there. I talked to Coach Zook and he's a good guy. I had a real good time there today."

Harrison now has firm offers from N.C. State, Nebraska, Duke, Virginia, Maryland, and Purdue with Florida, LSU, and Miami showing heavy interest. He's already considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the country and the colleges are letting it be known that he's a major priority.

"Virginia and Nebraska told me that I am one of their top priorities, and I know N.C. State's looking for a quarterback right now. They have Jay Davis and Marcus Stone, but they are looking for another guy who can come in and fit their system. We run the same kind of offense so that transition wouldn't be too hard."

Beck, who also admits that he's still "very high" on Nebraska, will have an interesting decision to make. Should he choose the school where he can play the earliest or pick a college that best fits his needs regardless of competition?

"Whereever I go I'll have to compete, and I'm not afraid of that. If I went to a place like N.C. State I'd do just that. I know Jay and I've thrown with him for the past two years so either way it would be a great experience. I would say it's an advantage for N.C. State with Jay being there because his dad is my coach, so State definitely gets brought up a lot."

Now that Harrison has visited four of his favorites, is he ready to name a leader?

"I'm not ready to name a leader or anything. I might commit before the season, but I'm not really sure if I'm going to do that. That is a possibility right now though."

Beck will camp this summer at several of his top schools so he can get a better feel for the coaching staff and surroundings.

Look for this talented quarterback to pick up even more offers with the evaluation period approaching because he's emerging as one of the nation's best!
