Bronx (NY) St. Raymond's High School's dream season came to an end this weekend with the Ravens losing 72-66 to Mount Vernon High in the New York Class AA state semifinals.

St. Ray's was hoping to meet fellow New York City squad Lincoln High in the finals, but Mt. Vernon spoiled their plans behind the play of Pittsburgh signee Keith Benjamin and his 23 points.

Benjamin hit big shots all night for Mt. Vernon, including a two-minute stretch late in the fourth quarter when he scored eight straight points to push a 58-56 lead to 66-59 in the final minutes.

St. Ray's could never recover from Benjamin's flurry of points and ended their season one game short of the Federation state title game and a matchup with Sebastian Telfair's Lincoln High.

NC State signee Gavin Grant paced the Ravens with 16 points in his final high school game. The 6'7 swingman will bring versatility and toughness to a strong NC State team next season.
