Freedom High School
Morganton, North Carolina

The 6-1, 220 pound linebacker is still awaiting his first offer but he is getting attention from programs around the nation. "Carolina, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Nebraska are all showing interest," Kidd said in a recent interview with

When asked if he has any early favorites, Kidd responded, "Not yet."

The Morganton standout traveled to Clemson to enjoy the Junior Day activities earlier this month. "It was fun. I like it down there. The atmosphere is a lot like home."

Kidd also visited North Carolina State to see what the Wolfpack has to offer. "I liked it there also. I really like the coach. The new stadium is pretty cool."

"I have pretty good speed. I come through in the big games. I also like to have fun."

Kidd looks to do even more for Freedom High School during his senior season. "I plan on stepping it up on intensity. I will play both ways this year. I will play tailback on offense. I use to play tailback in middle school, but I haven't played on offense in high school."

Kidd's father played football for Tennessee so the Vols will definitely be in the picture. "I pulled for Tennessee growing up because my father went there. We use to watch the games when we were little."

What else will the North Carolina star consider when selecting a college? "I want to find a great school. Somewhere that I will be happy living for 4 years. I want to stay pretty close to home so my parents can see me play."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding linebacker from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
