Pack Keeping Tabs on Maryland Standout

StateFans continues its look at the possibilities for the class of 2005 with a profile of DB Jamari McCollough of Baltimore, MD. McCollough is one of that state's top players and the Pack will be tracking him throughout the year.

Height: 5-11

Weight:175 pounds

School: Randallstown High School in Baltimore, Md

Nickname: Mari

Positions recruited for: Defensive Back

Physical stats: McCollough runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5-seconds and has an impressive 35-inch vertical leap. He currently bench presses 245 pounds and has a max squat of 405 pounds.

Stats as a junior: On offense McCollough rushed for 286 yards and two scores while hauling in 28 pass receptions for 475 yards and eight TD's. On defense he collected 57 tackles including two sacks and six interceptions.

McCollough describing himself: "I'm aggressive (but also) play with finesse."

What McCollough is looking for in a future college: "Education, graduation rate and team winning history"

StateFans Take: It would appear that McCollough will be a prospect that State recruits but any serious interest will probably hinge on how much he improves from his junior to senior year. He is considered to be one of the better prospects in Maryland and Coach Portee has been active in that area so it'll definitely be worth watching over the course of the year.
