Released: 2005 Top 100

Tasmin Mitchell, Martell Webster and Tyler Hansbrough currently occupy the top spots on 2005 Top 100. However, no spot in the Top 100 is safe as we steam toward the summer.

The early talk about 2005 being a "down year" overall in terms of producing prospects appears to have merit heading into the summer. The task of settling on a No. 1 prospect wasn't easy as we wait for someone to take over control of the Class of 2005.

Tasmin Mitchell keeps the top spot basically because he's done nothing to merit losing it and no one else has been dominant enough to warrant knocking him off. Hopefully, as the traveling team season rolls on someone will separate themselves from the field.

As for the rest of the Top 100, well no one is safe. This is the earliest has produced a Top 100. Generally, we like to have more time to judge the players and see them in different settings. However, the demand for a Top 100 list was too great not to produce one.

Having said that, this list is going to change dramatically over the next few months. No spot is safe on this list and frankly, guys need to step their games up in order to get college recruiters and those close to the grassroots scene excited about the Class of 2005.

Hopefully, we'll be in for a competitive summer and guys will begin to get hungry in an attempt to improve their national stock.
