"We're gonna be traveling a lot this summer," Wilson said. "I'm going to Florida's camp that's in pads. I'm going to Down & Dirty. I also plan on going to camps at NC State, and maybe Ohio State, LSU, or Auburn. On Sunday, I'm gonna go to the Rutgers camp at Northeast (High School)."
Wilson, a full academic qualifier who scored straight A's on his report card for the second grading period in a row, has some excellent news on the academic front. "I'm gonna be graduating in December so I can start college in January," he said. "I wanna get a head start so being there for spring practice is gonna really help."
The talented lineman, who checks in at 6-3 and 325 pounds, said he plans to start narrowing his list of college favorites soon. "I wanna take all five of my visits to out of state schools," he said. "I'm probably gonna take two this summer and three during the season. The state schools, I already will know about. I'll be at Florida's camp, UM is just down the road. I know I wanna visit Pittsburgh and N.C. State."
Wilson has former teammates at Pittsburgh (including best friend Clint Session) and NC State and that's playing a role. He has three former teammates at UM. "When I talked to the UM coach, he was telling me about my boys down there," he said. "They're doing good. They're all fighting for playing time this year. Those guys being there will help UM and plus they have a good academic program. I'm very interested in them but I'm still wide open right now."
One thing Wilson will do after his visits is sit down and examine the depth charts at each of the programs he's still considering. "I am trying to play as a freshman," he said. "That's why I wanna start early. The thing about Miami is they got a lot of good linemen already from around here. I'm a competitor but I do wanna play my first year."
Wilson claims offers from several of the schools he's considering. "Auburn, Pittsburgh, Florida, NC State, and Rutgers have," he said.
