Does Greco Have a Favorite?

"I was at the Rutgers camp," Mike Greco told StateFans. "It was good. They haven't offered yet, but they are still looking at me."

Mike has received scholarship offers from UCONN, South Florida, Auburn, Iowa, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, and Bowling Green. However, he's still waiting on firm offers from all of his favorites.

"The teams that I really like are N.C. State, Miami, Florida State, Auburn, and Michigan," he said. "I don't really have a favorite but it's still early."

Greco, who plays in a running-based offense at Cardinal Gibbons, was a standout at the recent Miami NIKE Camp. Rated the best quarterback in attendance by analysts, his athleticism was off the charts. At 6'3 and 200 pounds, he ripped off a 4.37 40 yard dash, a 3.9 shuttle, 33 inch vertical, and 16 reps of 185 pounds on the bench.

Those numbers ranked first, first, first, and second respectively among all quarterbacks at the camp. With athleticism like that, some programs are also recruiting him as an athlete.

"Most of the schools are looking at me as a quarterback, but some have said that if it doesn't work out I can switch positions," he said. "But, I want to stay at quarterback. I feel like I'm one of the best around and there are plays I can make at the position that other players can't make."

Mike's looking for an offensive system that best fits his abilities and he pointed out that NC State's offense intrigued him the most.

"I probably like NC State's offense the best," he said. "They really spread the field and throw the ball a lot."

The Wolfpack's also in his top three, along with Florida State and Miami, but have yet to offer.

"Coach Amato came by my school last month and they've been on me hard," Mike said. "I'm camping at NC State on the recruitment day in July, and I know that they like me a lot. When I go up for camp it will give me a chance to learn more about the school and the facilities."

"I have an uncle who lives in New Bern, North Carolina and he's a big NC State fan," Mike added. "He talks to me about them all the time."

Greco intends on camping at NC State, Georgia, Miami, and Florida State. Could an early offer from one of his favorites seal the deal?

"I think I'm going to wait a little while," he said. "I want to see who all offers me before making a decision." Scouting Report: An extremely athletic quarterback prospect, Greco threw for 820 yards, ran for 350, and scored 11 touchdowns as a junior last season. Greco is a quarterback that can beat you many ways. His running ability is off the charts, he has a strong arm, and has a good mind for the game. His best days are clearly ahead of him. If he played in a pass-happy offensive system, everyone in America would know about him.
