Film Session: Linebacker Eugene Hayes

Just days ago outstanding Madison (Fl.) star Eugene Hayes named NC State his early leader and here's your chance to watch the talented linebacker prospect in action!

Who's the nation's top linebacker prospect? Is it Luthur Brown, Tray Blackmon or Ryan Reynolds? Hold the vote because there is a new name to throw in the linebacker hat - Eugene Hayes from Madison County High School in Florida. Check out these highlights and see for yourself.

Is Eugene Hayes the top linebacker prospect in the country? He will be a candidate for that distinction when rolls out our rankings in two weeks. Hayes, 6-1 and 218 pounds, plays for Madison (Fla.) Madison County High School. Last season as a junior he recorded 18.5 sacks (3rd in the state of Florida).

Hayes is an explosive defensive player that can come off the edge and rush the passer, stuff the run or play the pass. He is quick to the quarterback and is a tremendous pass rusher. Hayes has super north-south speed and can really move well laterally. He can chase you down or fight off blocks to get to the ball. Hayes reads and recognizes the play very quickly and he's a very instinctual player. He's also very athletic and a big time hitter and you will get a great idea of that by watching the video clips below.

Some of the highlights in video 3 are from his recent spring jamboree where Madison County played Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland. Enjoy.
