Wolfpack Commit Finishing up Summer School

After an outstanding freshman season at Hinds CC where he led the team in sacks, we could assume Defensive End Chad Green would take the summer off and spend some time back in North Carolina. However, he's busy at work preparing for an early graduation from the Mississippi community college.

"I'm going to summer school right now," Chad Green told StateFans. "I should be on schedule to leave in December. That's a big reason I'm at summer school is so I can do it for sure."

Green was in Raleigh for NC State's spring game in April, and was impressed with what he saw from the Wolfpack.

"I was at the spring game," he said. "I like that defense they have. I think they are going to be big-time this year, and I can't wait to get up there and play with those guys."

At the spring game Chad watched his brother, David, participate in his first outing at NC State. David is a walk-on athlete who has been spending time working out at defensive back and wide receiver on the scout teams.

Green also had a chance to speak with the newest member of NC State's coaching staff, Defensive coordinator Reggie Herring.

"I like him," he said. "His attitude really stood out to me because he seemed real intense."

Chad had an outstanding freshman season at Hinds, leading the program in sacks while starting every game. Stating that he now weighs in at 235 pounds and standing 6-foot-5, he's hoping to add another 20 pounds of muscle to his frame before arriving in Raleigh.

"I think I'll fit in good with what they are doing up there," he added. "I'm just getting my grades right and trying to keep getting stronger so I can play early."
