2004 Outlook

Most fans aren't giving Jay much praise, but he could be an important factor for any potential NC State success in 2004. With Philip Rivers at the helm, Davis played minimal minutes but has put up solid numbers while at quarterback for the Wolfpack. He likely enters fall practice as the starting quarterback and will battle highly-regarded freshman Marcus Stone for the starting position.

Recognition potential

Jay (or any NC State quarterback for that matter) will not be asked to do too much in 2004. His job will likely be to make good decisions, minimize turnovers, and lead the offense. Although he probably will not contend for any all-conference awards, Davis has the weapons around him really excel if he is able to do so.
