2004 Outlook

-Garland Heath took the long road to get to NC State but in 2003 showed the flashes of brilliance that made it worth the wait. Boasting great speed, Heath has the size of some linebackers and finished up last season as the most effective defensive back when considering the percentage of plays he earned a stat. Heath will almost surely spend another year as the understudy of all-conference DB Andre Maddox but the increased reps could mean more effective contributions for both players. With another year of experience under his belt, Heath could very well stand poised to break out as the next NFL-caliber DB from NC State.
