Jarrett Brown, a standout quarterback for Palm Beach Lakes (Fl.), had committed to West Virginia earlier in the summer but chose to camp at NC State anyways.
"He's committed to West Virginia but I think he had fun up at NC State," Smith said. "Brown had to impress the NC State coaches because he definitely impressed me."
Jarrett wasn't the only Florida quarterback in attendance at NC State's camp, as Fort Lauderdale (Fl.) Cardinal Gibbons signal-caller Mike Greco made his way up to Raleigh. Like Brown, Greco impressed the five-star running back.
"Greco's a monster," Smith said. "I had no clue he was that good, and he can fly. Greco and Jarrett were the quarterbacks for our seven-on-sevens so you know we took care of business."
Antone has now camped at NC State, Rutgers, and Wake Forest and has taken unofficial visits to Miami and Florida State. Does he have a leader?
"There's been a slight change with my favorites," he said. "Right now everybody's up there. We'll have to wait and see what happens though."
Most analysts consider Antone a heavy lean to the hometown Miami Hurricanes. Smith didn't hide his affection for the Hurricanes but pointed out that he's more open than most might think.
"I'm always going to love Miami, but I love NC State… I love LSU. I love Florida State… Florida, it's not going to be easy."
Don't expect an early decision, as the nation's #3 running back prospect will do like most big-time prospects and wait until signing day.
"I'm going to take my visits and decide on signing day," he said.
