Wolfpack in the Mix for Padgett?

Due to a mixup in signals, it turns out that Shelby (N.C.) Crest speedster Travis Padgett is not committed to Duke after all, and he has more offers now from which to choose than ever before.

"It's a big mixup. I didn't really commit to them," says the 5-foot-10, 180 pounder. "I went on a visit up there and it got kinda blown out of proportion."

So that brings Padgett to where he started, completely open. However, he would like to play football and run track in college, for which some schools are offering in both.

"Some schools have offered me in both football and track. Clemson, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina are the ones that offered for both. I want to go to a school and do both.

"It has not been any school that has offered for track, but there have been some schools that offered for football like NC State, Duke, Virginia Tech, and Virginia."

While Padgett sat out last season, it obvious that has not hurt his recruitment much as his sophomore film is impressive, and he won a head-to-head 100 meter competition against 2002 football recruit Xavier Carter, who was the reigning 100m champion.

"The way I am getting recruited, it is like I didn't even sit out a year. My goals for football is to get to where I was last year when I played, and to just help win."
