Pack Pride's NC Top-30 Ranking -- #21-30

Pack Pride debuts the North Carolina Class of 2005 Top-30 rankings this week and the first segment breaks down #21-30. We will release #11-20 on Tuesday and all thirty prospects on Wednesday.

The Pack Pride "North Carolina Top 30 Ranking" is in no way connected to the NC State coaching staff. This ranking is for our readers to remain updated with the top players in the state of North Carolina. This ranking is a combination of current scholarship offers, stats, combine numbers, and our own evaluations. This list will be updated regularly and will change throughout the recruiting season.

No. 21
ATH Re'quan Boyette

5-11, 185 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40....Fike High School, Wilson, NC

Film Session- Video 1

Scouting report- Boyette possesses great speed and quickness. Also has good strength for a player his size. Looks good at RB but probably projects better at CB. Some programs also liked him as a slot receiver.

Scholarship offers- Duke, NC State

Favorites- Duke Verbal

No. 22
WR Geron James

6-4, 175 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40....Ashley High School, Wilmington, NC

Film Session- Video 1

Scouting report- Long, lanky WR with good hands and speed. Perfect candidate for teams trying to target taller WR's. Grades have been somewhat of a concern but should that clear up, has the potential to earn several more offers.

Scholarship offers- Virginia Tech, UNC, Maryland

Favorites- NC State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech

Where does State stand- James apparently impressed at State's camp but getting an offer at WR can be tough at NC State. Should the Pack spring for an offer, State could very well emerge as the team to beat.

No. 23
FB/LB Mark Paschal

6-1, 230 pounds, 4.7-seconds in the 40....Charlotte Latin School, Charlotte, NC

Scouting report- Tough, hard-nosed runner. Throw-back player. Could potentially play MLB but may be limited by speed. Probably projects better at FB

Scholarship offers- Clemson, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, UNC, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest

Favorites- Open currently but really likes UGA although the Bulldogs have yet to offer.

Where does State stand- NC State is not involved.

No. 24
S Stephan Virgil

6-1, 175 pounds, 4.45-seconds in the 40....Rocky Mount High School, Rocky Mount, NC

Film Session- Video 1, Video 2

Scouting report- Big hitter with good size and good speed. Also doubled as RB last year and has shiftiness. All around good athlete that projects to defense in college.

Scholarship Offers- UNC, Wake Forest

Favorites- UNC, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Virginia

Where does State stand- Pack is recruiting but has not been heavily involved.

No.25
TE Ted Randolph

6-5, 250 pounds, 4.7-seconds in the 40.... Davie County High School, Mocksville, NC

Film Session- Video 1

Scouting report- Randolph is a rising prospect who excels at tight end for Davie County. He displays amazing quickness for a man of his size, while also showing commanding strength in the passing game with the ability to shield defenders from the pass. Randolph could grow into an offensive lineman or serve as a blocking tight end on the next level.

Scholarship offers- Clemson, UNC, Wake Forest, South Carolina

Favorites- Wake Forest Verbal

No. 26
RB James Arnold

5-11, 180 pounds, 4.55-seconds in the 40.... Davie County High School, Mocksville, NC

Film Session- Video 1, Video 2, Video 3

Scouting report- A playmaker on both sides of the ball, Arnold has been the star player for Davie County since current NC State linebacker Patrick Lowery left. Arnold projects as a running back or cornerback on the next level.

Scholarship offers- Auburn, Clemson, North Carolina, East Carolina

Favorites- Auburn and NC State

Where does State- NC State is recruiting Arnold but have yet to extend an offer. Should they offer him expect Arnold to commit shortly thereafter because he has always favored the Wolfpack.

No. 27
RB/WR Travis Padgett

5-10, 180 pounds, 4.3-seconds in the 40....Crest High School, Shelby, NC

Film Session- Video 1, Video 2

Scouting report- Padgett may be the state's fastest player and is known for his exploits on the track as well. Had very good seasons for Crest as a freshman and sophomore, but didn't play as a junior. Could project as a running back, slot back, or cornerback on the next level.

Scholarship offers- Duke, NC State, UNC, South Carolina, Clemson

Favorites- NC State, Duke, UNC, South Carolina, Clemson

Where does State stand- Pack is recruiting very hard according to Padgett and is likely among his leaders. Watch out for South Carolina.

No. 28
DB Bryan Dixon

5-11, 185 pounds, 4.45-seconds in the 40....South Columbus High School, Tabor City, NC

Scouting report- Physical defensive back who projects as a safety on the next level. Excelled at the Scotland Shrine Bowl combine and showed the ability to lock down wide receivers.

Scholarship offers- UNC, Duke, ECU

Favorites- UNC Verbal

No. 29
WR Scott Long

6-3, 195 pounds, 4.45-seconds in the 40....South Brunswick High School, Southport, NC

Film Session- Video 1

Scouting report- Athletic, physical receiver who is recovering from an ACL inury he suffered early in his junior season. Reportedly performed well at several camps this year and is cleared to play as a senior.

Scholarship offers- Louisville

Favorites- Wake Forest, NC State, and Clemson

Where does State stand- Pack is recruiting Long and he performed well at their camp. It's likely an offer will not be extended barring an absolutely huge senior season.

No. 30
LB Chazeray Jackson

6-0, 210 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40... East Rutherford High School, Forest City, NC

Scouting report- Very athletic prospect who will also play wide receiver and running back for East Rutherford this year. He's been receiving heavy interest from the South Carolina schools.

Scholarship Offers- South Carolina

Favorites- Clemson and South Carolina

Where does State stand- NC State is not involved.
