Pack Pride breaks down the top 30 prospects in North Carolina.

Pack Pride breaks down the top 30 prospects in the state of North Carolina. Today we shine the spotlight on players 20-11. All player rankings are the opinion of the staff at Pack Pride and are in no way related to any recruiting list of the NC State coaching staff.

No. 20

CB Jordan Hemby

5-11, 180 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40....Freedom High School, Morganton, NC

Scouting report- Hemby is simply one of the state's fastest prospects. Has been electronically-timed in the 4.5-second range and hand-timed in the 4.3-second range. Perfect size for CB and has the skills to become an impact player in college. Very quick player that closes well and doesn't mind contact.

Scholarship offers-Clemson, NC State, UNC, Virginia Tech

Favorites- Hemby is currently considering all of the schools that have offered a scholarship

Where does State stand- NC State got in early with Hemby but he has dodged naming any favorites. We should have a little better feel where he stands later this summer.

No. 19

QB Joe Cox

6-1, 195 pounds, 4.7-seconds in the 40....Independence High School, Charlotte, NC

Scouting report- Independence didn't miss a beat last year after losing Chris Leak to Florida. Cox doesn't possess prototypical size but he has done a masterful job of taking over Independence's wide-open offense. Very accurate passer with good arm strength. Cox sees the field well and makes good decisions. Can really flourish in the right system.

Scholarship offers- Georgia, Duke

Favorites- Georgia verbal commitment

No. 18

WR Brandon Woods

6-2, 210 pounds, 4.5-seconds in the 40....S Durham High School, Durham, NC

Scouting report- Some project Woods at WR but we think he may actually turn out to be a better S or LB in college. Has great size but speed could limit him to possession-type receiver. Could really be a difference-maker at S.

Scholarship offers- UVA, Nebraska

Favorites- Virginia verbal commitment

No. 17

CB Brandon Ghee

6-0, 175 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40....Jack Britt High School, Fayetteville, NC

Scouting report- Ghee is a quick, athletic CB with good coverage skills and athleticism. Will need to get stronger but could potentially grow into a FS in college.

Scholarship offers- Clemson, UNC, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest

Favorites- Clemson, UNC, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest

Where does State stand- NC State not involved

No. 16

WR Maurice Covington

6-5, 205 pounds, 4.5-seconds in the 40...Southern Durham (NC) High School

Scouting report- Big, strong WR that possesses great size and has the toughness to double as a LB for Southern. Has tremendous vertical leap and solid hands. Could be a very reliable possession-type wide-out in college.

Scholarship offers- Virginia, Duke

Favorites- Virginia verbal commitment

No. 15
S Antonio Wardlow

6-1, 200 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40... Parkland High School, Winston-Salem, NC

Scouting report- Wardlow is a big-time hitter who can also defend the pass. A leader for the Mustang's defense, he's very physical and has a flair for making the big play.

Scholarship Offers- Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Duke, and North Carolina among others

Favorites- Virginia Tech and Tennessee

Where does State stand- NC State is recruiting Wardlow but will likely evaluate him as a senior prior to making an offer decision. He's one of the state's top safety prospects, but NC State is in great shape with several safeties across the country.

No. 14
OT Julian Williams

6-5, 275 pounds, 4.9-seconds in the 40....New Bern High School, New Bern, NC

Scouting report- A very solid left tackle prospect, Williams is recovering from an ACL injury he suffered in the state championship game. He has a lean frame that can add another 20 pounds and is a devastating run and pass blocker.

Scholarship offers- NC State, Maryland, East Carolina

Favorites- Claims to be open

Where does State stand- NC State has been considered the leader for some time now, but recently Williams has said he's now open. NC State still appears to be in great shape.

No. 13

DT Camaron Thomas

6-5, 310 pounds, 5.0-seconds in the 40....North Moore High School, Robbins, NC

Scouting report- Athletic big man with strong hands, Thomas has the ability to play defensive tackle or could grow into an offensive tackle. Projects as a defensive tackle on the next level, but also plays fullback for his high school team, showing his athleticism.

Scholarship offers- UNC, South Carolina, Indiana

Favorites- UNC Verbal

No. 12
LB Charles Gamble

6-3, 215 pounds, 4.5-seconds in the 40....Southern High School, Durham, NC

Scouting report- Gamble is very athletic, very balanced, and knows how to play low to the ground. He rushes the passer very well, and can tackle easily with long arms. What he lacks in pass coverage skills he makes up for in pure speed.

Scholarship offers- Clemson, Virginia Tech, South Carolina

Favorites- South Carolina and Virginia Tech

Where does State stand- Pack is recruiting but their interest level in unknown currently.

No. 11
WR Josh Briscoe

6-3, 175 pounds, 4.5-seconds in the 40.... Burns High School, Lawndale, NC

Scouting report- A terrific wide receiver prospect, Briscoe excels going across the middle or deep for the long ball. He plays much bigger than his frame would suggest, and with a strength and conditioning program in college he's likely to develop into an all-conference caliber wideout.

Scholarship offers- NC State, Georgia, Nebraska, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia among others

Favorites- Tennessee, Georgia, and NC State

Where does State stand- NC State is recruiting Briscoe hard but most think he'll likely follow Jon Crompton to Tennessee.
