Just because N.C. State no longer has Philip Rivers at quarterback, don't think that the Wolfpack football team is headed toward the right wing of college football. "With the athletes we have on our team, we can't be conservative," said would-be starting quarterback Jay Davis. "We are still going to throw the ball around, and we have to go after defenses. But we are also going to be able to run the football. It is going to take a lot for a defense to come up (to the line of scrimmage) and stop our running game, and when they do, well, then, here we go." Read More

McLendon Looks to Beat Defenders, Injuries

T.A. McLendon beats linebackers to the corner, runs over safeties in the open field and finds a way to get to the end zone. He hasn't had the same success avoiding injuries. The bruising back has been the battering ram of North Carolina State's high-flying offense, but has missed five games in his career with injuries.
