Maddox Tabbed for Lott Trophy Watch List

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State senior roverback Andre Maddox is one of 36 players named to the "Watch List" for one of college footballs newest awards; the Lott Trophy.

Named after two-time All-American and College Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Ronnie Lott, the award seeks to recognize the defensive IMPACT player who best demonstrates the IMPACT and characteristics of Lott both on and off the field - integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.

A first-team All-ACC selection in 2003, Maddox ranked fifth in the ACC, 22nd in the nation and led the team in tackles with 145 last season. The Miami, Fla., native has collected 284 stops during his career.

The Lott Trophy will be presented on December 12 at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif. This Saturday, Maddox and the Wolfpack will kick off the 2004 football season against the Richmond Spiders at Carter-Finley Stadium.
