Sparks Back From First Official Visit

Memphis (TN) Briarcrest Christian kicker Justin Sparks is back from his first official visit of the year and liked what he saw during his stay in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Kicker Justin Sparks has emerged as NC State's primary target and currently he appears to have the only outstanding offer at the position.

This past weekend he was in Raleigh for NC State's first game of the season while taking an official visit.

"I went to NC State for their first game against Richmond," Sparks said. "I went down there early Saturday and left on Sunday. That was an official visit too."

"It was good," he added. "I liked everything about it."

Three programs have contacted Sparks during the September contact period, and he feels others will soon follow.

"NC State, Ole Miss, and Florida have already called me," Sparks said. "There may have been some more too. I'm not sure, but those are the three that I've talked to."

With offers from NC State and Ole Miss, both schools still remain at the forefront of Sparks' recruitment.

"It's still NC State and Ole Miss in my top two," he said.

Did the official visit to NC State give them a slight edge?

"Well... I don't know," Sparks replied when asked that exact question.

He still plans on taking an official visit to Ole Miss prior to making a decision, but at this point Sparks has yet to determine a firm date.

"They want me to come down sometime, but I haven't really decided when yet," he said.

Sparks says that he still plans on making an early decision.

"I kind of want to get it done soon, but I'm still not really sure," Sparks added.
