Prince Back From NC State (w/ Video)

NC State had one of the nation's premier high school seniors on campus this weekend for an official visit, and he liked everything about the Wolfpack.

"It was good, it was a great trip... I really enjoyed it," J.P. Prince said. "It was exactly what I expected. I got to hang out with Julius [Hodge], and he's a guy I try to model myself after because we have a similiar game."

Hodge, the ACC's reigning Player of the Year and one of the nation's best college players, was J.P.'s host for his visit and even gave the Memphis point guard some sound advice for making his college decision.

"Jules said that I need to go somewhere that's best for me," Prince said. "There's a lot of good places out there, but I should go somewhere that I'll get to play and be successful. You don't want to sit on the bench for two years and you need to go somewhere that you can be successful and have no restraints on you."

NC State's RBC Center is one of the top arenas in college basketball and facilites like it are a nice attraction for the Wolfpack.

"The facilities are great, and they are getting better," Prince said. "They are building a new practice facility, and their arena is one of the best in the world."

When asked about the highlight of his visit, Prince was quick to point out the time he spent with the current team members.

"I think the highlight was getting to spend quality time with the players," he said. "It's not always going to be basketball and it was good to spend time with guys like Ced [Simmons] and Gavin [Grant]."

Without a doubt NC State would have loved to have Prince commit during his visit, but he has been adament throughout the process that he would take all four visits before deciding. The Wolfpack coaches respected his wishes and never seemed to push for a commitment.

"They didn't put any pressure on me or anything, and I respect that," Prince said. "They told me they would love for me to commit, but they know I want to take all of my visits, and I really appreciate that."

Is he ready to name a leader?

"I'm not ready to put a leader out there," Prince said. "I have a leader in my head, but I'm not ready to say anything. I'm just taking it all in stride."

Prince has two official visits remaining as he'll trek to Tucson, Arizona in two weeks to check out the Wildcats and follow that up with a trip to Gainesville, Florida to visit Billy Donovan's Florida Gators. After that visit, we can expect a decision.

"I'm sure after the second or third week in October I'll be ready to make my decision."
