Wilson has "Good" Official Visit to NC State

Pompano Beach (Fl.) Ely Offensive Lineman Ronnie Wilson took his first official visit to NC State this past weekend, and he liked what he saw from the Wolfpack.

"It was good," Ronnie Wilson said. "I know it could have been better if they would have won, but I had a good time."

"I got to hang out with some of my ex-teamates," he added. "They were telling me about some of the different players and places around Raleigh."

Former Ely stars James Martin and Sterling Hicks now play for the Wolfpack. NC State tackle Derek Morris was Wilson's host during his official visit.

"I like big Derek," he said. "He's a real cool guy."

Wolfpack assistant Mike Barry is the position coach that Wilson would play for if he chose to attend NC State.

"Coach Barry's cool," he said. "I met with him while I was up at camp, so I got to know him real well there."

With one visit out the way, Wilson now has three remaining. He will check out Pittsburgh the weekend of the Boston College game, the Florida Gators when they play LSU, and the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Michigan Wolverines.

"I'm glad I did it that way," he said. "I wanted to check out the schools when they had big games so I tried to set up my visit for the rivalry games."

Wilson, who hopes to have a decision in November, will enroll in January at the school of his choice. At the moment, he claims no leader and says that he's wide open.

"I don't have a leader right now."
