"I'd say North Carolina State leads slightly right now because I know the most about them and I've developed a great relationship with the coaches," says Hardesty, from New Bern. "It's close to home and the program there is very much on the rise. Coaches (Manny) Diaz (safeties) and (Chuck) Amato are real cool guys. They run a lot of zone blocking and they pass a lot to their RBs, and I've got some pretty good hands. The situation there is good.

"I like the RB coach (Randy Jordan) at Nebraska and the new coaching staff they have. They have a great offense and the situation at RB over there is good. They have a JR that plays RB right now and I know if I go there, I'd be able to come in and play. I really like coach (Bill) Callahan and the stadium over there too.

"Tennessee has got three SRs at RB and that is a really good situation for me to play in. They also have a great stadium and coaches (Phillip) Fulmer and (Dan) Brooks (DLs) sound pretty interested in me.

"Virginia Tech recently had to move a WR to RB because there was just too many--I think a JR starts at RB right now. I think if I go there I could play early. The offense is looking good over there and it's a real good program.

"Clemson has a great atmosphere and I like its stadium. Coach (Burton) Burns (RBs) is real cool and I know that they need some RBs over there--they've been calling me up a lot lately."

Hardesty says he also has offers from Ohio St, Florida St, Auburn, South Carolina, Virginia, Notre Dame, Marshall and Alabama.

Hardesty also expects to officially visit Tennessee and Virginia Tech (no dates) after the season.
