Oher Talks NC State

Memphis, Tenn. OL Michael Oher talks about his trip to N.C. State and when he might visit Norman, Oklahoma and the Sooners.

JH: How is your season going?

MO: "As a team we are playing great. We are 4-2 and lost to the number one and number two teams in the city, and we beat a team we have never beaten before and beat them in convincing fashion. Individually, my season is going great. I don't think I have ever played better and I am working hard to get better every day."

JH: Have you been challenged yet this season?

MO: "I haven't run across a big time defensive tackle yet, so I have been pretty much dominating so far."

JH: What areas have you improved in and what do you need to improve on the most?

MO: "I have improved my balance and my feet. We watch film a lot and I am doing better at staying on blocks and firing out of my stance. I am getting on my man better and sticking with him. I still have a lot to learn, but I am making progress."

JH: Have you taken any official visits yet?

MO: "I went to N.C. State last weekend. I was supposed to go to Oklahoma this weekend, but when they moved the game up to 11:30 that pretty much ruled me out. I wouldn't be able to get there until Saturday about noon and by then it would be too late."

JH: What did you think of your visit to N.C. State?

MO: "It was a great and I had a good time. I liked the facilities the most and the players seem to be good people. They took me in and treated me like a teammate already. I enjoyed myself and had a good time."

JH: When have you rescheduled your visit to OU?

MO: "I think we pushed the visit back a couple of weeks. I haven't really talked it over with my coaches yet, but I know that it will be my next visit."

JH: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process?

MO: "It is not really bothering me at all. I am keeping up with my academics so things are going well. The process hasn't been a problem for me."

JH: What schools are you interested in at this point?

MO: "LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and N.C. State are my five schools that I am looking."

JH: Do you have a favorite at this time?

MO: "I went to Oklahoma in the summer and really liked it. They have built new facilities and have a great weight room. I liked the facilities at N.C. State, so I really can't say if I have a favorite or not."

JH: What is it that you like about Oklahoma?

MO: "I know they have a great team and Coach (Kevin) Wilson is a great guy to play for. When I was in Norman I had a chance to talk to a couple of players. I bumped into Jammal Brown and Davin Joseph and they were great guys. All the players were great guys. They were just great with me and really good people. They made me feel like I was at home."

JH: Do you think you will take five visits?

MO: "I don't know because I could decide early. That all depends on how my visits go. If I like a school quick then I can make a decision quick."
