Williams and Hudson Honored by ACC

NC State defensive end Mario Williams and safety Marcus Hudson have been honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference for their efforts in helping the Wolfpack defeat Maryland on Saturday, 13-3.

Williams, a 6-7, 290-pound sophomore from Richlands, N.C., has been named the league's defensive lineman of the week, while Hudson, 6-2, 186-pound junior from Miami, is the co-defensive back of the week. Both participated in a stifling defensive performance that held the Terrapins to just 91 yards of total offense. The Wolfpack leads the nation in both total defense and pass defense.

Mario Williams, ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week

Turned in an outstanding effort in Saturday's 13-3 win at Maryland. Williams, a sophomore from Richlands, N.C., played 44 of 56 defensive snaps for the Wolfpack, and had five solo tackles and one assisted hit, including three tackles for losses totaling 13 yards. NC State limited the Terrapins to 91 yards of total offense, marking the Wolfpack's best defensive game ever against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent.

Marcus Hudson, ACC Defensive Back of the Week

Hudson, a junior free safety from Miami, Fla., had a team-high 15 tackles - eight solo hits and seven assisted tackles - plus a quarterback sack for eight yards in the game at Maryland.
